"Tsundere Trout" Sticker Process

as adapted from Patreon

ehehehe

I really liked this sticker idea. It was the first one from my sketchbook that I drew because I thought it was so funny.

Inspiration for this came from the juvenile steelhead trout (or just rainbow trout) that we saw at the aquarium. I was drawing them, and I realized that their cheeks had pink splotches, which looked like the cute blush marks anime characters often have. I thought it was such a cute idea for a fish to have those pink blushy cheek marks, especially since they usually look so dead-eyed lol. Later, at the airport (where I doodled most of my sticker designs) I added the across the face blush marks and of course had to make it tsundere. And the sketch and idea was born.

You can watch the full process in the timelapse video. Below are the final color and images. I went with a different, more textured coloring style for this, as compared to the possum sticker. I also kept the colored line, but only kept it one color. I know most stickers usually use flat colors, a little less texture, or an overall "cleaner" more vector look, but I kinda like how this looks. What do you think?
