March 2022 - Update

In an interesting example of "balance" my last month was not remotely as productive as January...

Ah well. My tarot cards said as much.

Still, going to write about it though!

First Quarter Goals

Strength Training

Once again, didn't do as much as I had originally wanted, although my trajectory was a bit opposite. I actually started working out more in the past week, and I'm hoping to bring that energy into the next month. March is the last month I have before I should really start focusing on triathlon training, and with the recent revelation that working out can actually *help* backpain (unfortunate, I know) I'm hoping to use that as some extra momentum and gradually build up to a more regular workout schedule.

Saving Money

Not only did I hit my savings goal for the month, but I actually already hit my goal for the quarter! Tax refund really came in clutch. That makes me pretty happy. Of course I'll keep saving, but I feel really good about it, even though I feel like I did a lot of spending this month lol. I do have a big purchase planned for March (a lil early bday present for me) but I'm confident I'll still be able to save the amount I want.

Cryptid Storyboards

Didn't do so hot this past month. I didn't work on any of them. In general I didn't put out much art outside of the hourly comic I drew at the beginning of February. I did a few personal sketches but otherwise, it was a difficult month to be creative. I have some time set aside during the week to work on boards, so hopefully I'll be able to knock out scene 4. And if all goes to plan, this weekend I'll be able to knock out another.

Final Patreon Commissions

Okay, so... hear me out... I did at least start sketching these lol. This is another task I'd like to finish up this week. I made the "mistake" of telling my therapist about it and now she's given me a deadline so I'm a little Stressed and Pressured, but we'll see if that at least gets me to work on them.

I didn't do much else work on my actual New Year's Resolutions, aside from starting to play Words with Friends more frequently. I did watch Spencer and ran a little bit, but otherwise not much.

Overall, this month was pretty difficult for me for a lot of reasons. There were a lot of mental and emotional challenges I had to deal with that made things feel very overwhelming, and the downswing hit me pretty hard. As frustrating as it was, though, I do feel better now and in a more productive mood overall, which gives me some hope. February was also a month of a lot of waiting and little forward movement, and I know March will provide some answers and clarity for some things I had been waiting on that'll affect my future. Once I have those answers, I'll be able to finish planning out the rest of my year and get that weight out of my brain finally. I also have a lot of travel planned for April, so that adds an extra sense of "deadline" to get things done in March. Plus, it's my birthday month! Ay! Not to mention that the days are getting longer, the weather is warming up, and the earth is starting to wake up again.

Was February difficult for anyone else, or was it just me? What do you have planned for this month? How are you feeling about March in general?

Thanks for reading, and I'll talk to you next time! <3
