Drunk Animal Drawing: The Hoatzin

Hello everyone! If you follow me on other social media platforms, you may have already seen this, but if not then here we are!A little while ago I came up with the idea of doing a drunk art tutorial, comprised of animals. I'm a big ol' ho when it comes to nature documentaries, and I've been pretty obsessed with gathering as many useless animal facts as my noggin can hold since the age of 5. My parents bought me a box of animal fact cards that I'd organize and reorganize in alphabetical order, as well as several animal non-fiction books. I'm sure they thought they were raising a little biologist. Lo and behold...To their credit, I did want to be a biochemist for a hot second. I thought biology would just be a bunch of animal facts and chemistry would be mixing chemicals like a mad scientist, so mashing the two together sounded like the best plan. Little did I know that science was much more boring than that. At least when you start out. Don't want to offend any scientists out there...Boring or not, it just didn't jive for me, and I changed my life goals to art. Still questioning that today, but my love for animals never disappeared. Planet Earth is one of my favorite docuseries, and I've seen just about every good nature documentary on Netflix. Note: good. I'm picky about my narrators and editing.I don't know why it took so long to come up with this idea, but after I did it seemed obvious. What better way to combine my love of animals with my need to produce art, all under the great catalyst of alcohol?? I think I say something to that effect in the video as well. And what's funnier than listening to a drunk chick ramble on about birds and the importance of basic shapes? Probably a lot of things, but that didn't stop me!2 1/2 hours of filming and 2 days of editing later, we have this 26 minute gem of content. The bird I chose was one I fondly remembered reading about in my childhood, and one that I feel is not well-known and deserves some love. I mean, check out that character design! There's also a mini-Eurovision rant included, and TONS of profanity. Beware, but enjoy!https://youtu.be/Kto7DSiw6xI
